ZuRumba is a "hotter than Salsa" partner dance. It is the OndaAmor brand name for Zouk-Lambada, a sensual partner dance with its roots originating from Brazil. Taking the best from a number of dances and influences ZuRumba combines the core footwork, swing, energy and passion of Lambada and the sensuality of Latin Ballroom Rumba – all in one dance! ZuRumba is danced to the hypnotic and earthy sounds of Zouk and Kizomba.
The flavour of the music has helped develop and mature the dance into something inspirational, beautiful and above all very enjoyable to do and to watch. ZuRumba is danced to two principle rhythms; slow, quick quick or quick quick, slow, dependent on what the music dictates. The ZuRumba style moves away from the older percussion style of Lambada to the more sensual emphasis on melody, with many of the movements over longer musical phrases.
